Process analytics, gas analysis and AI – background on the podcast

The Fresenius Umwelttechnik Podcast is dedicated to industrial process analytics, continuous gas analysis and the use of artificial intelligence in plant operations. We talk with engineers, plant operators, service technicians, researchers and decision-makers about gas analyzers, emissions monitoring, combustion optimisation and the digital transformation of Industry 4.0.

Topics include measurement principles such as NDIR, TDLAS, paramagnetic and zirconia oxygen, continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS), components like O₂, CO, CO₂, NOₓ, SO₂, CH₄ and H₂O, as well as sensor drift, validation, calibration, cross sensitivities and standard-compliant measurement to EN 14181, EN 15267 and MCERTS.

We show how AI models, machine learning, anomaly detection and predictive maintenance turn measurement and trend data into concrete recommendations – for less downtime, fewer emissions and more safety in power plants, cement and steel works, refineries, chemical plants, hydrogen and biogas applications and waste-to-energy facilities.

We also cover data integration via OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus and REST, digital twins, edge computing, cloud platforms, energy and ESG monitoring and auditable reporting under CSRD, ESRS and the EU ETS. Tory, our AI persona, translates complex measurement data into clear recommendations for operators and maintenance teams.

From sensor to cloud, from calibration to maintenance strategy, from a single analyzer to the NeoCity vision: if you care about process analytics, continuous gas analysis, emissions monitoring, decarbonisation, AI-supported diagnostics and sustainable industrial value creation, this podcast is for you.
